madness at the jackpot

Showed up at the Jackpot in Lawrence Kansas for the free drinks, ended up catching up with some stylish people and some stylish bands.  I first saw Molly, noticing her black hair with red streaks.  Her hair was done by her friend Kaity, who works at Skin Illustrations.  Kaity had ombre-blond-to-pink hair and some serious tats.  3 different bands played tonight, and as I was very relaxed, I for the life of me can't recall all the names, but they are pictured and were much appreciated none-the-less. :)  The first band was acoustic hip-hop, locals from Lawrence and KC.  The last 2 bands were melodic, ethereal, dancable rock, with sound that filled you up and moved you.  The second one hails from L.A., and the 3rd one is also from KC.  Any band mates that want to comment and leave their names feel free please!  Sorry bout fallin down on the job; I was too busy dancin and drinkin :)

Sittin on the bus, mindin my own business.  All of a sudden, look at that girl's red hair!  

Caitlin colored her hair herself.  She likes the versatility; inside it's toned down due to softer lighting, and outside in the sun it shines.  

With her glasses frames, she was going for more of a retro feel, which I think worked with a slight cat's eye shape.  

She has a devil's pitchfork-inspired septum piercing, and a brow piercing that is a metallic turquoise. 

She wore a purple chunky-knit sweater.  I really appreciated the vibrant color combination; red, turquoise, purple.

style on a rainy day

style at the chateau :)

Hit up the Chateau in Lawrence last night for Pride Night.  Wonderful stupendous time as always :)  Noticed this guy's bow tie and had to take a pic.  He also had baby blue loafers, white boating shorts, and a demure blue button up.  His glasses and curly red hair completed it.  Not to be missed were the Xs on his hands and his glowing green bracelet.  

Listening to Lights, Bassnectar remix.  Soo good.     

Lately I've been feeling a lot better as far as eating and getting stuff done goes.  I honestly thought I would never want to eat or go out and see anyone ever again.  So it is a relief, and a surprise, to have some energy for life back.  I think moving out on my own was crucial to getting over the severe depression I was in.
I started compiling what I wrote earlier when I was in the throes of anorexia.  I am attempting to get my writings published.  It is hard to look over what I once wrote, but I hope if it is published that it might provide some benefit or encouragement to those who read it.  Already, in just talking about it with people, they feel comfortable to share what they are going through in regards to food.
I have also begun cooking again, which is another thing I thought I would never again want to do.
I cannot express my relief.
To actually enjoy eating, I can't describe it.


Well, I just wanted to share that I think I am actually making progress.  It is shocking to me.

In the past I have felt I was getting better, and would kind of have some manic behaviors that went along with it.  You know, not sleeping very much, feeling invincible, with a lot of energy and ideas.  It made the subsequent crash that much harder.

I don't want to go through that again.  So this time I am trying to be careful.

Last night for the first time since the most recent time that I started to get better, I felt a bit down.  I didn't like it at all, but I simply tried to rest and talk to people who cared about me and about whom I care.  It helped.  It was hard to feel down when I have lately been feeling so up.  But I have to realize that it will not always be an upward trajectory; sometimes I will not be incredibly feeling good.  But still I must press on.  It is important for me to remain in contact with good people as I go through this.

I thought this guy had great cojones to wear this kilt.  He had the confidence to pull it off.  Always have said guys should wear more skirts.  He also used color well with the orange T, and added some nice white knee socks.  Very creative and bold.
